Located on the banks of the iconic brisbane river in tennyson the centre provides brisbane with an international standard tennis facility for the first time since the closure of the milton tennis centre in 1999.
The main court was designed to incorporate a ptfe glass fibre fabric roof.
A significant feature of the purpose built facility is that it provides a fixed roof solution to permanently shelter 5 500 spectators from the heat and rain whilst still maintaining the atmosphere and tournament status of an outdoor event.
The light weight of the fabric also reduced the amount of steel required and saved on building costs.
