If your cedar wood and siding already has this type of paint stain on it you are required to put something very similar for a new coating. Semi transparent stains are lightly pigmented to show off the cedar s natural grain variations. Siding that has been primed and coated with two coats of paint can offer up to 10 years of protection. Not sure if that will be too many colours. Brush application is usually the best.
